Recreation and Outdoors

Greensville County and the City of Emporia jointly operate a comprehensive recreational program through the Emporia-Greensville Recreation Association (EGRA), which offers soccer, little league baseball, basketball, football, softball, and seasonal sports and events.

Greensville County encourages its residents to enjoy the beautiful Virginia outdoors. Over 60 acres of park facilities support a variety of activities including baseball, soccer, football, basketball, and tennis. A 25-acre park along the Meherrin River provides over two miles of paved walking trails and three picnic pavilions, and local lakes and rivers allow for excellent fishing and boating.

Love to camp?  How about Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort?  Well-known Lake Gaston is also a short 30-minute drive southwest of Greensville County, offering camping, recreation and water sports on this 49,000-acre resort.
